POST 8 >> SUMMER PLANS

Since summer is quite close I been thinking about where should I go and same as the last summer I would like to go to Isla Negra an area in El Quisco, the weather in there during summer is very refreshing and windy and it's not hot that's the best thing. I'm expecting to go with my parents and, if she can, with my older sister since she never went there. I been going there because my father's friend lend us a little house he has close in the area. When we go as a family we tend to sleep most of the time jaja, walk by the beach and little forests and have some cakes from a bakery near "our" place they are hundred time better than any cake I have here in Santiago. But an issue, since its difficult for me to work during the university period this year, I spend a lot of my savings so I'm thinking on find a job to recover a little bit of money. Recently I saw a 'Maxi k' that is being built in a subway station near my house, so I’m thinking it's a g

Since a few years ago in every end of new year my father ask us to write something similar to a bucket list actually it's more like a wish list about what we want to archive the new year. I never thought about making a bucket list but if I had to make a real one I definitely put Traveling, I always wanted to travel to the south of Chile, I don't know specifically where but on that trip I would like to go with my closest friends; continuing with the travels I know that my parents like Europe a lot so it would be beautiful if someday I can take them there, my mom wants to se Versailles. As well I'm very interested in go to Japan and South Korea with friends, and finally as a personal trip I would like to go to Ireland. In another topic, I would like to learn more piano, since I start university I stop doing a lot of activities and hobbies that I used to, and piano is the one that hurts me the most, also I have an Irish whistle that I bought on eBay and I never take the t

POST 5 >> MY FUTURE JOB

I still don´t know in witch area from design I would like to work, but until now the one that I like the most is Editorial Design, I enjoy combining compositions and layouts with typography and many other things. That's why for now I have more inclination on get a major on typography, digital publications or maybe art direction. At the beginning, I thought that design would be absolutely intended to be done indoors, but now I real ice that it´s extremely necessary to be in contact with the world, get to know people from different design areas even form other careers, it would be a dream to be able to travel for work, travel is the thing that I like the most and be capable to combine them it would be amazing.   I like money a lot haha, but as a salary  I'm not really interest on get an enormous amount, knowing that this discipline is not very well paid in a lot of places, I'm fine by getting enough for my living expenses because since I would like to work in di

POST 4 >> "YOUR FAVORITE BOOK"

Imagen
My favorite author is J.R.R Tolkien, he was British born in South Africa, an author, academic, poet and philologist. Since I always liked the movies inspired on his works, I wanted to read the original story, so I found the three books of 'The Lord of the Rings' on my house (my father read it). I don´t remember when I start them but I finished when I was 17, and the first book 'The Fellowship of the Ring' has been my favorite book for years. Ï like Tolkien because I've always liked stories with fantasy and adventures, but all this in a different world, and that's what Tokien made, a whole new world and language to develop his brilliant stories. You all probably heard about The Hobbit, but you can't imagine how many stories he created! Recently I am collecting 'The History of Middle Earth' 13 volumes about different aspects and stories about Middle Earth (The world that tolkien created) and I just have 3 of them, I guess soon my favorite book is goi

POST 3 "MY FAVORITE MOVIE"

Imagen
Since I was a child my favorite movie was The Lord of the Rings, as you can see in my previous post  I´m very attracted to medieval, Celtic and mythological things, this movie was like my first approaching in all of those aspects, I watch it when I was around 10 years old, but I knew it unconsciously before that, since my parents really like this movie, and the books, my house had 3 frames of a 1998 calendar ilustrated by John Howe and I always stared at them. Also my mother listen a lot of the movie soundtracks, so I practically grow up with this movie. My favorite character is Sam, Samwise Gamgee, I never get tired of saying that without him Frodo would not be able to do anything. Unlike most people I like long and slow movies, where the plot can develop as I said in a slow way, I don't like movies where are a lot of things happen on the same time and is all smash together in an hour, I like well development character where none of them is there ju

POST 2 (WEEK 4) >> THE BEST CONCERT EVER

Imagen
The most touching concert I,ve ever been its Lorena Mckennıt 'Lost Souls Tour', she is a 62 years old Canadian musician with Scottish heritage who plays genres like Celtic, new age and folk music in general. It was touching since is an artist that I listen to since my childhood, and I had the possibility to go with my mother; it was our first concert together. The concert take place in Teatro Caupolican on November last year. Also Lorena didn’t come alone she brought the musicians who accompany her during her world tours, this time a violinist, a guitarist, a cellist, a percussionist, Lorena sang, played piano accordion and harp. Because of the music genres, I think you can imagine what kind of atmosphere the event had, the place was quite dark with soft lights, no screen or giant equipment, it was like a dream, so peaceful and calm. I had a lot of past memories in my head, all of this made us forget that we were in the middle of Santiago, I almost cry.  I leave this photo

POST 1 (WEEK 3) >> A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT

Imagen
Do you know Ireland? Ireland it's a small country in Europe next to England, It's a quite cold place it rains a lot, there isn't much sun in the year but I heard that their people is super warm and friendly also I really like their accent haha I like the cold weather and Ireland is the perfect place for that, since I was a child I been exposed to the Celtic culture and medieval stuff like music and architecture, so with the time I realized that Ireland it is a place that gathers all of that and my new interest. It will be amazing to travel there, If I go there I would definitely take a Tour to get to see lot of castles like The Rock of Cashel or The Blarney Castle, also I would go to their famous pubs and have some Irish beer with live traditional Irish music. In the past, I read that in Ireland, there are very interesting design academies like the National College of Art and Design It would be amazing to study there for a short period.
